ADAPTABILITY
When faced with difficult times
Know that challenges are not sent to destroy you.
They are sent to strengthen you.
In that strength we learn to adapt.
A new way of looking at the world.
A new way of how we act or react.
A new way of communicating – not with thorns, but with feathers.
With softness, love and understanding.
A new way of putting our shoes on. For a second, imagine yourself in someone else’s shoes. By doing this, you will gain wisdom, empathy, gratitude, tolerance, compassion and ultimately acceptance. Would you not wish that someone would step into your shoes if you needed support?
When life puts us in unfamiliar circumstances, it’s for a reason.
To learn, to cope, to adapt. Nothing is by coincidence.
It makes us better humans. It enriches our souls and raises our standing in the universe. Just another step to our higher selves.
Adaptability:
The quality of being able to adjust.
The capacity to be modified for a new use or purpose.
The lizard is a creature that holds profound symbolic meaning within Choctaw mythology. Known for its ability to adapt to various environments, the lizard represents resilience, survival, and transformation. Key characteristics of the lizard include:
Camouflage: The ability to blend into surroundings signifies adaptability.
Regeneration: Lizards can regrow their tails, symbolizing renewal and healing.
Agility: Their quick movements represent the ability to navigate challenges effectively.
In Choctaw culture, the lizard is viewed not only as a survivor in nature but also as a guiding spirit that teaches the importance of adaptability and resourcefulness in daily life. (Native American Mythology.com)
I introduce you to my spirit lizard - Reggie.
My blue-tongue lizard lives in my backyard. He’s called our place home for many years. When he’s around, life seems somehow, balanced. We don’t communicate with words - but we still communicate. Even in our obvious differences, there is a knowing. an understanding, a spirit awareness that needs no words. I am blessed to have such an amazing creature as a houseguest. I’d be lost without him.

So, when you find yourself out of your comfort zone, you will find an alternate footprint to your higher self. Become your inner lizard. I found mine.
Love and magic, D. 💚🪶
