There are so many souls on our magical planet who have nothing. Whatever their circumstances. Their deficiencies are our everyday abundance. Their desperate needs are the simple things we don’t even think twice about in our all-consuming digital ‘reality’.
To live in peace
To live a life without incessant suffering and fear - in all its forms
To have enough food to feed themselves as well as their starving children
To not be fearful of tomorrow
To not be fearful of today and what the veil of night may bring
To wake up and be able to hold your loved ones and go to bed knowing they are safe
To believe that there is hope, and that people like you and me, who are so very lucky, will be there to share the load and the gifts
So, when you matter-of-factly look into the sky, or a spider dangling from a web in your backyard or any of the trillions of amazing images Mother Nature gifts us every day in our safe, peaceful spaces, remember that there are those, also looking at those same images, but are blind to appreciating the magic, for they have little to be grateful for.
Be thankful for the small things and the magic that surrounds us all.
With thanks to the Universe for my precious gifts. Every minute, every day. 🪶D

“To live in peace”
Oof... three words and suddenly I’m sitting straighter. This reads like gratitude without the glitter, just laid out honest and unflinching. I love how you keep pulling us back to the things we forget we’re standing on every day... safety, food, sleep, tomorrow not feeling like a threat. That image of people looking at the same sky but carrying completely different weights? That one stayed with me.
This didn’t feel preachy at all... it felt like someone gently tapping my shoulder and going, hey, notice this. I caught myself actually slowing down and feeling thankful mid-read, which is kind of the whole magic, isn’t it. Quiet reminder received.
I do feel so grateful for all of the Magic in my life despite recent years being tough. I am inclined to see the Magic by birth (also born under the sign of the Crab 🦀): a night sky full of stars, rolling waves on the seashore, glorious Autumn foliage, gorgeous sunsets, the lanyrinth in all seasons, soft Winter sunshine making the blanket of snow on the ground sparkle, my heart connections with my son, friends, cohousing neighbors.... so many blessings! 🎉🎶☃️🌠
